Seated Meditation
 
| six week series | $70 | Thursdays @ 6:30 pm | This is the core of our inner development series. Come and experience first hand the enormous health and wellness benefits of guided meditation and learn to meditate on your own as well. Explore a wonderful variety of stress reduction and relaxation meditation styles including Daoist, Buddhist, Yogic, Chan (Zen), Tibetan, and Creative Visualization. The psychological, neurological and immunological effects of meditation are well documented. We will explore a variety of traditional methods which may include Nei Yang Gong (Inner Nourishing Qigong), Fang Song Gong (Relaxation Qigong Exercise) , Xu Ming Gong (Psychosomatic Emptiness and Serenity), “Inner Smile” Organ Cleansing Practice, Tibetan (Bonpo) Dzogchen Dream practice and The Golden Wise One visualization. Advanced classes may include topics such as Opening the 8 Extraordinary Meridians and Circulating the Microcosmic Orbit or other topics as appropriate.

Standing Meditation
 
| six week series | $70 | Wednesdays @ 6:30 pm is a method like no other. Experience true inner power and health improvement by learning to simply “stand like a tree”. By aligning, balancing and grounding the body using soft relaxed standing postures, the energy channels are opened allowing Qi to circulate and accumulate. This foundational practice embodies the concept of achievement through non-action. Who could resist the treasure of good health by simply standing?

Tai Chi Class
 
| six week series | $70 | Offered on Monday Evenings at 5:30pm and Wednesday mornings at 8:00am Whoever practices T'ai Chi twice a day will gain the pliability of a child, the strength of a lumberjack, and the mind of a sage. Fluid postures combined with gentle breathing and relaxed intention promote increased energy, strength, flexibility, balance and have a beneficial influence on many physical, mental and spiritual issues. This short form lays a firm foundation for exploration of all of the other Taiji styles and practices. The form is a continous flowing - slow and even movement with steady concentration. The goal is to be relaxed yet fully alert. The fluid easy movement creates a clear mind with increased agility and strength of body.

Walking Meditation
 
six week series | $70 | Wednesday @ 9:15 am This is the simple practice of effortless and mindful walking. We will learn to walk consciously using good body mechanics, a variety of deep breathing patterns and relaxed mental images. Walking is one of the easiest, most beneficial exercises we can perform benefiting a myriad of physical conditions, notably diabetes and digestive disorders. In China, special walking exercises are also used to help ameliorate some of the negative side effects of cancer. Our practice explores several styles of walking including Medical Qigong, Zen Buddhist Vipassana style and Daoist Circle Walking. These styles promote clarity and deep relaxation as the mind synergistically unifies the body and breath and breaks up stagnant patterns within us and provides more available oxygen to us. Weather permitting we will often walk outside, please dress appropriately.

Wuji QiGong
 
| six week series | Thursdays @ 5:30pm | helps practitioners find a deep state of relaxation and connection with their inner being and thus fertile ground for actualizing new ideas and actions while eliminating outdated patterns of restriction in one’s life. Natural, gentle and easily-learned movements form the basis for this method.
