MeditationMeditation is the art of inner contemplation or relaxed awareness. Experienced through both moving and still practices,it assists us in slowing down and untangling our thoughts. Consistent practice gives the practitioner a renewed sense of inner balance and well-being.

This is the simple practice of effortless and mindful walking. We will learn to walk consciously using good body mechanics, a variety of deep breathing patterns and relaxed mental images. Walking is one of the easiest, most beneficial exercises we can perform benefiting a myriad of physical conditions, notably diabetes and digestive disorders. In China, special walking exercises are also used to help ameliorate some of the negative side effects of cancer. Our practice explores several styles of walking including Medical Qigong, Zen Buddhist Vipassana style and Daoist Circle Walking. These styles promote clarity and deep relaxation as the mind synergistically unifies the body and breath and breaks up stagnant patterns within us and provides more available oxygen to us. Weather permitting we will often walk outside, please dress appropriately.
